Out and about, it was a little hot on this day. I needed an outfit that was breezy but still a little dressy for my brother's birthday dinner. So in the spirit of summer and the nautical trend that has been around for the past few seasons. Here's the rundown: blue and black, hi-low striped dress with cutouts along the neckline. I added a wide silver and black waist belt for visual interest. I kept the rest of the outfit classically simple with pearl studs, and finished it off with silver bow flat sandals. The weather's getting hotter, so of course style has to elevate as well. Stay tuned.

You Want A "Peace" of Me
Four words. Really. Big. Peace. Sign. I think I became mesmerized with this architectural gem, located on University of Pennsylvania's campus, just outside of Center City. I enjoyed a warm Spring day, and tried this amazing authentic (they're hard to find), Chinese cuisine restaurant, called Beijing. I had the shrimp spring roll and the sesame chicken, and it made me glow as you can see, in the pic below. Outfit of the day? Here's the breakdown: I wanted something that could be adjusted to the warm weather, comfortable but still expressed my personal style. I paired a turquoise blazer with a sleeveless cream-colored, polka-dot print top. On the bottom were my tried-and-true skinny jeans, and black flats that feature a black satin, flat ribbon, and a kind of metal mesh exterior. I kept my accessories simple, classic pearls and a translucent white, beaded layered necklace. My statement piece of the day, was my color-blocked vintage purse, that features various shades of brown and caramel leathers, and at only 4$ it was a fierce deal and style steal.
Stay fierce ;),

It Don't Mean A Thing if it Ain't Got That Spring!
Three words. The Great Gatsby. First, the movie was a sight to behold with stunning visuals and a soundtrack that mixed modern music with 1920's jazz. Simply put it made me feel like a participant in a revamped Roaring 20's. So I donned a outfit that had an ease inspired by 1920's shift dresses and was perfect for an 80-degree Spring Day...and introducing Ashley Weekes, my fellow fashion-lover and film aficionado friend. Here's the rundown: my coral-striped confection of a dress, paired with the nude flats I pretty much have worn out because they look good with just about everything, my layered charm necklace and my coral and gold owl earrings. Topped off by my baby-blue nails, because if you're going to do color you might as well commit to it ;). Here's a breakdown of Ashley's outfit: a sheer purple, heart-printed sleeveless chiffon blouse, paired with simple denim jeans and black thong sandals. Simple enough for comfort but still captures the spirit of the season. I'll end with this awesome quote from a Hipster Handbook at Urban Outfitter's..."If you aren't part of the now, then you're part of the not now-and that doesn't mean the future, as the future starts now, not yesterday, and you can't be there tomorrow if you're not here now."

You Give Me Butterflies
Take an asymmetrical butterfly printed skirt, and add a good friend and what do you have?
An awesome Spring afternoon, on a Saturday. As a homage to all things Spring, I paired a simple rayon, cross-back, black tank and a sheer butterfly printed hi-low skirt. I love the breeziness of this outfit, and hi-low skirts are effortlessly chic. They've become a part of my Spring uniform, now to find the ever illusive sheer maxi skirt. ;). One more week to go, and then its Summer, or at least for us college students. Stay tuned for the summer series of xoxoFierce&Luxe.

The Mystery Behind the Mask
This past weekend was the grand event I've been helping plan all year...spring formal!!! It was a huge success, 120 students, including yours truly. We set sail on the Delaware River on the three-tiered Ben Franklin Yacht, for a night of music, food, and some really good cake :).
But now what you all came here for, the fashion of course. It was a masquerade, which I jumped at of course, so I decided to go all old Hollywood mystery for this one. I chose an elegant, and spring-inspired lilac gown, deep purple colored heels pictured here,
and a lace mask from Amazon, because I do not have the gift of craftiness, so I opted to buy one pictured here .
Another note-worthy look of the night is my friend Cierra's dress. She paired an aqua green satin dress of her design with a simple black shoe, and completed the look with sparkly accessories. Clearly we belonged in the 1930's that night. Happy Fashion!

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things: Winter Edition

So this post will be short and sweet, because of course it's Christmas Eve, and what's sweeter?
A top three few of my favorite things now, that are trending the most on my Winter wishlist. Chunky, warm, infinity scarves, they come in a variety of styles, fabrics, and can be worn multiple ways...more bang for your buck. Oversized sweaters, whether open knit, asymmetrical, or off-the-shoulder they are cozily stylish. And while you wear your oversized weater with an infinity scarf of course! Drink coffee, decadent hot chocolate or soothing tea ( mint is my personal fav)..because tis' the season :)
